Friday, April 9

Our family at Lahinch beach :-) (also, our only morning with sun - can you tell by the number of pictures we have from our sunny day, lol!)

Brenna and I at Lahinch beach

Dustin and Brenna running at the beach

A very pretty town - right behind the houses by the water is a golf course.
Brenna's picture of me at Cliffs of Moher (pretty good picture!) - that was the last picture before the batteries died (ironic - I bought batteries for that camera in Germany because I knew it would need batteries soon and then we left the batteries at home - it was about the only thing we forgot on the trip though :-)

Brenna was holding her new pin in her hand. One of the workers in the tower (behind her in the picture) gave it to her after all of us climbed back down the tower :-)

Brenna and I at the Cliffs (it was windy, but at least the sun was shining for a little while)
Dustin and Brenna at the top of the tower :-)

Of course, our sun couldn't last all day - once we arrived in Galway, the clouds rolled in...
Brenna hanging out with Dustin (in her new shamrock robe - too cute!)

Brenna and I on top of Oscar Wild's lap (she loved these statues, I'm not sure why, but they were pretty wet which is why I sat down first)

Brenna found her carousel (at the cave we went to in Burren - at least it was free! We didn't actually go in the cave - we visited the birds of prey instead, but they were having an Easter egg hunt for the kids so Brenna saw the Easter Bunny and collected some chocolate eggs at the end :-)

Hello All!!!

Hope all is well out there! Brenna and I have had a productive morning today - the laundry is done and we are hoping for a sunny afternoon to go to the park...
Anyway, for day 3 of our trip:
The sun was actually shining when we left our bed and breakfast in Ennis and headed out for Lahinch beach, the Cliffs of Moher, and The Burren (that all seemed so short to me, until we were going around all the curves in the Burren - then I was really ready to be out of the car and the backseat). So, our first stop was Lahinch beach - now we can say we have seen the Atlantic ocean from the other side - we will have to get Brenna to the US side sometime soon, lol. I loved the rocks at the beach - we assume we came at high tide as there wasn't much beach where we were (and there were plenty of surf shops). There was an amazing looking golf course right on the beach there (actually, there are lots of golf courses in Ireland - something that we don't see much of where we live in Germany). From the ocean, we headed over to the Cliffs of Moher. Brenna loved the cliffs and the beach (and loved being out of the car too, lol). We climbed to the top of O'Brien's Tower at the Cliffs and the nice guy at the top even gave Brenna a free pin (I will have to try to keep this for her for later - although she did put it on once on the trip). After the cliffs, we drove through the Burren National park and stopped at a craft fair and also a cave in the Burren (where we went to a bird of prey show and did an Easter egg hunt for Brenna). The weather was starting to turn rainy after the Burren, so we headed to our bed and breakfast (and supper in Galway). We had some really great fish and chips in Galway and then did a little shopping in town. Then, with the rain and wind we decided to head back to the bed and breakfast and fell asleep for the night :-)
Well, only one more day of adventures (for Monday - going to Howth and feeding the seals and going to Dublin) (the only thing we did on Tuesday was just drive home and get on the plane, so I'm not going to devote a day of posting for it :0)
Take Care!
